  • To foster the interest of the breed generally
  • To ensure the survival of the purebred otterhound
  • To promote the breeding of the otterhounds according to the Standard
  • To hold shows and to promote classes for otterhounds at other shows
  • To maintain the working ability of the otterhound.
  • To provide opportunities for members to exchange information and opinions concerning otterhounds.
  • What is the Otterhound Club?

The Otterhound Club is an organisation formed in 1978 by a concerned group of people comprising members of otterhunts and members of the general dog world, working together with the Kennel Club to create a club framework to promote and ensure the survival of this very rare and ancient British breed of hound.
The Otterhound Club has a particular responsibility towards the otterhound as, although the Otterhound Club of America is older, we are the parent club representing the otterhound in its country of origin.
