Thank you to the Crufts Committee for the invite to judge Otterhounds, a breed I have been involved in for over 25 years.

The exhibitors for their super entry, their sportsmanship and the lovely hounds they brought today.

All dogs were of good breed type, sound and only left an oily residue on my hands after judging Just wonderful.

Sadly there were no puppies entered, but hope there are some planned.

Junior 

1st Teckelgarth Indefatigable, super young chap sired by my BOB winner, he is very similar in type, he has a super head, good ear, strong neck into a good shoulder, deep chest with a oval ribcage, super topline, rear strong, super mover, close up for the RDCC

2nd Ottaryx Sidney although this boy is a NBSC, he has good otterhound type, correct head proportions, ok in front, needs to develop in body (he’s young) super topline and when he concentrated he was a good mover.

 

Post Graduate

1st Olpahe Druid Lovely type of otterhound, super balanced head, strong neck, but could be a tad longer, well ladies shoulder, with good depth of chest, strong short loin. Moderate hind angulation, moving typically, 

2nd Olpahe Clayton super head and ear on this chap, strong neck, front ok, good depth, strong bone, maybe a touch too long in loin, however he holds a good topline standing and on the move.

Open  what a super class of mature male otterhound, I would happily sign a CC for the top 3

1st Ch Teckelgarth Dreadnought, I awarded this male RDCC as a puppy when I last judged. He has matured into a super hound, super type, lovely majestic head, good ear with correct fold. Strong long powerful neck, into a well laid shoulder, good strong legs, deep chest with an oval ribcage, strong loin and super topline, super tail, super mover which ever angle you viewed him from. DCC (his 20th)and BOB, he put a fabulous perfrormance in the  group Congratulations !

2nd Ch Olphae Charman, another super boy, he too has a super head, correct ear, strong neck with an excellent front, super depth, strong loin, and good moline, another super mover delighted to award him the RDCC

3rd Ch Kingstree Warrior at Keepcott making cup a trio of super chaps, super type, very sound dog, lovely typical outline, very sound mover.

 

Veteran 

1st Ch, AM Ch Four Pillars Tahoe Turquoise, what a great example this girl is, she has a head to die for, and those ears !! Strong neck, well laid shoulder, strong bone, I would like a bit more spring to her ribs, but she has good depth too her chest, good strong rear, well carried tail, super mover, Best veteran in Breed

Post graduate

1st Ottaryx Rascal feminine bitch, good neck into a correct shoulder, just enough depth, good bone and feet, super topline with a correct tail,was the strongest mover in the class

2nd Olphae Daphne, when this young lady decided to co operate, she was a lovely hound, super outline, good front with excellent depth, strong bone, I got a glance of her movement, a bit more training and she could do well 

3rd Keepcott Joyous

1st Contest and Crossroads English Dream at Otterslade, I really liked this super girl, feminine head, correct ear set and fold, strong neck into a well laid shoulder, good depth, but could do with a touch more spring of rib, strong short loin, super level topline well muscled rear, a super mover

2nd Olpahe Orlatih anther nice lady, exceptional ears, correct head, super neck, not quite the front of 1, good topline and another sound mover.

1st Tecklegarth Georgia

She really is a beauty, such super tyre, get majestic head, but remains feminine, hear super ears, strong neck into a super front, excellent depth, strong bone, super large round feet, super strong loin and level topline, tail set high, well muscled rear, loose and shambling on the move, delighted to award her the CC (found out her third) Congratulations

2nd Ch Teceklegarth Ebony, another super feminine girl, super head, correct font and good depth, super topline standing, strong rear and another correct and typical mover RBCC

3rd Ch Tecklegarth Damson making up a trio of super girls
